The Penn State Dairymen’s Club has released the 2018 bottle, honoring the “We Are” cheer, made famous in Penn State athletics. The bottle features the words, “We Are … Penn State Dairymen’s Club.”

All club profits from milk bottle sales benefit the Penn State Dairymen's Club Scholarship Endowment Fund. The endowment is used to award scholarship funds for Penn State freshmen studying dairy and animal science. For additional information about milk bottles or the club in general, please visit, or contact Club President Dr. Daniel Oliver at or (814) 360-5069.

Milk bottles from previous years are still available. Download the milk bottle form and mail it to Milk Bottle Chair Rebecca Shaw at 613 Cherry Alley, Apt. 2, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648, or scan and email it to her at

The Dairymen's Club is also pleased to recognize three new members to the Board of Directors.

Ashley Hoover is a 2010 graduate of Penn State with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural and Extension Education and a minor in Animal Science. She is currently employed as a field representative for Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association, serving farms in Huntington, Blair, Bedford and Somerset counties. Ashley resides in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Chad, and son, Jason.

Marcia Itle O'Connor grew up in Loretto, Pennsylvania, on her family's fourth generation dairy farm and creamery, Vale Wood Farms. Her passion for agriculture and the dairy industry led her to Penn State where she obtained a degree in Animal Science with a focus in Agriculture Business and Dairy Cattle Nutrition. Marcia now works for Land O' Lakes in a start-up division called PMI Nutritional Additives. Her main responsibility is to work with nutritionists and feed mills to bring natural solutions to their everyday issues. Her other interests include running, her family farm, hunting and Farm Bureau, where she serves on both the state ag promotion and young farmer and rancher committees.

Michael Phelps is a 2009 graduate of Penn State, where he majored in Agribusiness Management. During his college days, Michael served as the Penn State Dairy Science Club president and cheesebox chair. Following graduation, Michael returned to his family farm, Stein Family Farms, in Caledonia, New York. He and his wife, Kaylee, live nearby the farm.

These three new members are filling positions previously held by David Glock, Emily Gwin and Cindy Weimer. The board wishes to thank these members for six years of service. If you're interested in serving on the board, please contact Dairymen's Club President Dan Oliver at (814) 360-5069 or

The Penn State Dairymen's Club was founded in 1977, and is comprised of Penn State Alumni and friends who support the College of Agricultural Science's dairy programs. Membership is open to any alumni, faculty, or friends of Penn State University who wish to support and encourage the dairy industry in Pennsylvania through the programs offered at the University.
