Accounts
New employee's in the College of Ag Science should apply for two accounts. The first is a Penn State "Access Account" and the second is a College of Ag Sciences' "AG" account. The Access Account is used to access Penn State online resources like Adobe Connect webinars and the e-data reporting system. The AG account is used for College resources like SharePoint login, AG computer login, and College Exchange email.
SharePoint is the collaborative work space for groups in the college. A person must be given permission to login to specific SharePoint sites by being added as a member. Members must have a College of Ag Sciences AG account.
These steps should be followed if your office has hired a short-term, wage payroll employee that needs access to College of Ag Sciences resources.
With the arrival of summer comes the arrival of temporary employees in Extension offices - program assistants and interns. The College of Ag Sciences IT group is ready to create individual AG accounts for these employees - including e-mail if needed. These accounts can then be setup to use an Enterprise computer in your office, to use Exchange mail and calendaring if requested, and to connect to the appropriate shared folders on the server in your office.
Before you purchase a mobile device and select a service provider, you need to be sure you choose a device and cellular with data plan which is compatible with the college Exchange server. This will give you the seamless, synchronized mobile support you need for maximum work efficiency.
