Once you have migrated to Teams Telephony, Teams Phones, there are a few settings within MS Teams to configure so you have a better experience with Teams calls.

These steps reference MS Teams on your computer but similar set up can be done via the Teams app on a cell phone or tablet.

Setting Up Your DEFAULT Audio Device in Teams

  1. Click three dots to the left of your photos or initials in the top right corner of MS Teams.
  2. Click the Settings.
  3. Click the Devices.
  4. Select your desired speaker and microphone.
  5. To confirm it is working, click the Make a test call button (optional).

If you have a headset connected all the time to your computer, you may add a secondary ringer so that you can hear incoming calls when not wearing the headset.

Setting a Secondary Ringer output:

  1. Scroll down to locate the Secondary Ringer setting.
  2. Make adjustments to allow your computer speakers the audio device.

Redirect Unanswered Calls

  1. From the left sidebar, click the Calls.
  2. Below the number pad, click the drop-down arrow beside the Forwarding button (Note: Don't forward is selected by default).
  3. Click the More Settings.
  4. Verify that the call forwarding slide is toggled off.
  5. When you can't answer a call - select this drop-down menu to redirect calls to voicemail or to another phone and to set the amount of time before calls are redirected.

  6. Select the country or region, and then enter the address.
  7. If the address isn't found and you want to manually edit the address, turn on Edit the address manually.
