Pratt received her B.S. degree in Agriculture Extension and Education with a leadership and communications option and a B.A. degree in Journalism. In addition to earning excellent grades--she was involved in many activities and received a number of awards during her college career.

In 2005, Pratt completed an internship at the White House where she worked for the National Economic Council under the Special Assistant to the President for Agriculture, Trade, and Food Assistance. She assisted with the Helping America's Youth Conference, hosted by Laura Bush which unites and celebrates initiatives that reach out to at-risk children. She also participated in White House events, such as the lighting of the national Christmas tree and the Thanksgiving turkey pardoning.

Pratt interned with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for three years, where she reported for the press office during the Pennsylvania Farm Show. In 2006, Pratt completed an internship with the Cooperative Communicators Association in Portland, Or., where she wrote for the monthly newsletter and received a scholarship to attend the C.C.A national conference.

Her academic experience includes study abroad programs in Mexico and Belize. While abroad, Pratt gained valuable experience studying leadership and education within the agricultural industry and worked with 4-H clubs in both locations.

Pratt participated in many College and campus activities. She was an Ag Advocate for three years, captain of the Penn State Cheerleading squad from 2004-2007, founder and chairperson of the International Association of Agricultural Students and Related Sciences. She was also the secretary for the Mortar Board Honor Society and was a member of the Reformed University Fellowship.

In 2004, she received the Freshmen Award and in 2005 the Spark's Sophomore Award. She was recognized in 2006 and 2007 as the Evan Pugh Scholar and in 2007 honored with the W. LaMarr Kopp International Achievement Award.

Pratt is currently teaching high school biology at Dunbar Senior High School in Washington, DC. She is working with Teach for America, an organization that enlists promising future leaders in the movement to eliminate educational inequality.
