Donate to the Keeney Fund
Money Raised to Date: $238,242
An anonymous donor is putting his or her money where our mouths are, pledging to match gifts—on a dollar-for-dollar basis up to $1 million—in an effort to enhance food science programs at Penn State.
That's right... if we raise $1 million, the College of Agricultural Sciences will get $2 million!

How Does this Fundraising Campaign Work?
If the anonymous donor's maximum match is reached—resulting in $2 million in total gifts—these funds will be combined with an anonymous 2014 gift, also of $1 million, to reach the $3 million needed to create the first endowed department head position in the history of the College of Agricultural Sciences, which goes back to Penn State's 1855 founding as the Farmer's High School.
Where Does the Money Go?
Money raised will support the Philip G. Keeney Food Science Department Head Excellence Fund, named in honor of the professor emeritus of food science who helped establish the department and who is best known for his expertise on ice cream and other dairy foods. Proceeds from the endowment can be used at the discretion of the department head to support programs and new initiatives in food science research, extension and teaching.
