Use the following instructions to initially enroll in Microsoft Multi-Factor authentication using a phone number. NOTE: These instructions are for enrolling your FIRST/initial authentication method. If you are trying to enroll a secondary method, please follow the links at the bottom of this page.
- Go to accounts.psu.edu/mfa
- Scroll down and click the BLUE Enroll in MFA button
- If prompted, log in with your PSU Email address and password
- Click the I am ready to enroll button
YOU MUST NOW WAIT FOR 1 MINUTE...THIS IS REQUIRED FOR THE SYSTEM TO APPROPRIATELY PREPARE YOUR ACCOUNT FOR THE NEXT STEP.
- IGNORE the message on the screen, open a SECOND browser tab and go the following URL https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
- Click Next, if you see a screen indicating you need to provide more information
- If prompted, log in with your PSU Email address and password
- Click the I want to use a different method link
- Select Phone from the drop-down menu
- Click Add
- Enter your Phone Number
- Choose the whether to be called or texted
- Call will require you to answer and press the # key
- Text will send you a 6 digit code that you will need to enter
- Click Next
- Click Next
- Answer the test call and press the # key or enter the 6 digit code texted to your phone
- Click Done
ENROLLING A SECONDARY AUTHENTICATION METHOD
