Create positive and sustainable change with our new and unique Community, Environment, and Development program.

Have the freedom to choose your path. Focus on global issues like climate change, water quality, or the balance between food security and energy development.  Study local development options—internationally or at home—that are socially, economically, and environmentally sound.

This major has three options: Environmental Economics and Policy, International Development, and Economic and Community Development.

  • assist people, their communities, and institutions with understanding, responding to and shaping economic and social changes
  • learn ways in which communities can develop to improve the well-being of residents and maintain and enhance their natural environment
