Instructions are available to configure Android and iOS mobile devices to access Office 365 email.

Android/iOS Devices - Outlook App

This is Ag IT's recommended way for quick mobile phone setup with the Outlook app.

  1. Download Outlook from the Play Store/App Store
  2. Press the Outlook App and click Get Started
  3. Type in your PSU email the select "Add Account"
  4. Log into your Penn State account

Android Device - Default Mail App

The steps below may differ slightly, depending on the OS of the Android device.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Users & Accounts
  3. Tap Add Account
  4. Tap Exchange
  5. On the Add your email address screen, enter your email address (your full email address; xyz123@psu.edu)
  6. Tap Manual Setup
  7. Enter the following information:
    • Domain\Username: It should already be filled in, but verify it is your full email address (xyz123@psu.edu)
    • Password: Enter your Penn State password
    • Server: outlook.office365.com
  8. Tap Next
    • Your phone will display Verifying for approximately 5 seconds
  9. Tap OK on the Remote Security Administration verification screen
  10. Tap Activate this device admin app
    • You will receive an on-screen confirmation: Your account is setup and your email are on it's way
  11. Tap Next

By default, Mail, Calendars and Reminders will be enabled, with the ability to enable Contacts and Notes.

iOS Device - Default Mail App

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Mail
  3. Tap Accounts
  4. Tap Add Account
  5. Tap Microsoft Exchange
  6. Enter the following information on the Exchange screen:
    • Email: [Your full email address abc123@psu.edu]
    • Description: ex PSU O365
  7. Tap Next
  8. Tap Sign In
  9. Enter your Penn State password
  10. Tap Next
    • Your phone will display Verifying for approximately 5 seconds
  11. Enter the following information:
    • Server: outlook.office365.com
    • Domain: [leave blank]
  12. Username: userid@psu.edu
  13. Password: should already be filled in
  14. Tap Next; Save

By default, Mail, Calendars and Reminders will be enabled, with the ability to enable Contacts and Notes.
