Once you have migrated to Teams Telephony, Teams-to-Teams Calling, there are a few settings within MS Teams to configure so you have a better experience with Teams calls.
These steps reference MS Teams on your computer but similar set up can be done via the Teams app on a cell phone or tablet.
Setting Up Your DEFAULT Audio Device in Teams
- Click three dots to the left of your photos or initials in the top right corner of MS Teams.
- Click the Settings.
- Click the Devices.
- Select your desired speaker and microphone.
- To confirm it is working, click the Make a test call button (optional).
If you have a headset connected all the time to your computer, you may add a secondary ringer so that you can hear incoming calls when not wearing the headset.
Setting a Secondary Ringer output:
- Scroll down to locate the Secondary Ringer setting.
- Make adjustments to allow your computer speakers the audio device.
Redirect Unanswered Calls
- From the left sidebar, click the Calls.
- Below the number pad, click the drop-down arrow beside the Forwarding button (Note: Don't forward is selected by default).
- When you can't answer a call - select this drop-down menu to redirect calls to voicemail.
Managing Voicemail (Greeting)
- Click three dots to the left of your photos or initials in the top right corner of MS Teams.
- Click the Calls.
- Scroll down to the Manage Voicemail.
- Click the Record a Greeting button or type a custom greeting message.
- Select your preference for Choose what happens when the call is redirected to voicemail.
