Karl Brown 1982 B.S. Environmental Resource Management

Karl Brown of New Cumberland, Pa., began his career as a resource conservationist for the Lebanon Conservation District, where he administered the district's erosion and sedimentation control and Chesapeake Bay programs. Before joining the State Conservation Commission in 1995, he worked for the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau as director of local affairs, director of agricultural employers programs and director of national legislative programs. As executive secretary of the commission, Brown oversees and supports the state's 66 conservation districts to further the commission's mission, which is to "ensure the wise use of Pennsylvania's natural resources and to protect and restore the natural environment through the conservation of its soil, water and related resources."
