AgIT provides wireless in our Extension offices, Research Centers and Rock Springs: psu-ext-staff, psu-res-staff and psu-rs-staff are for PSU owned devices, while psu-ext-pub and psu-rec-pub are for personal devices. IMPORTANT: To protect the security of your network, the secure staff wireless should ONLY be used for computers and devices that have both BigFix Manager and the Ag IT managed Windows Defender anti-virus software installed.
Connecting to secure county wireless
- Verify that you are in a wireless service area by checking your wireless signal for the network name "psu-ext-staff" ("psu-res-staff" or "psu-rs-staff")
- Connect to "psu-ext-staff" by configuring your wireless network settings to access "psu-ext-staff."
- Enter your PSU username and password.
- Click "Connect" or "Accept" to accept the security certificate.
- Launch a web browser and attempt to connect to any website.
- You should now connected.
Connecting to public (guest) county wireless
- Verify that you are in a wireless service area by checking your wireless signal for the network name "psu-ext-pub" (or "psu-res-pub").
- Connect to "psu-ext-pub" by configuring your wireless network settings to access "psu-ext-pub."
- Enter the password (contact BOM/CRM for current password).
- Launch a web browser and attempt to connect to any website.
- You should now connected.
