Digital PCR Applications in Research

The SAFES Institute will be hosting a seminar on Thursday, October 15, 2:00 - 3:00 PM focused on research applications of digital PCR technologies. The seminar will feature James McGee from QIAGEN who will discuss recent advances in digital PCR and highlight how researchers are using it to address challenges in agricultural, environmental, and microbiome sciences research. In turn, we'll also hear from Daniel Allen, associate professor in the Ecosystem Science amd Management Department, who will discuss some of his ongoing research projects that are incorporating QIAGEN's digital PCR platform.

Principles of Sensory Evaluation Short Course 2027

This 2.5 day workshop addresses the basic principles of sensory science from discrimination and acceptance testing to good laboratory procedures to the theoretical underpinnings for these practices. The course is delivered in a classroom and laboratory environment, and includes a mixture of theory, demonstrations, and laboratory activities using Compusense Cloud.
