Question #1: What inspired you to pursue the major you are in?
Nothing interests me more than the interactions between humans and our natural world. Forest systems are one of the most important resources to humanity, and I wish to know how we can have a sustainable relationship with nature, while still maintaining the amazing beauty and wildlife that depends on it.
Question #2: What has been the best part of your time in the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences?
The people in the College of Agricultural Sciences are my favorite part. Everyone feels like they are right where they want to be, learning what they want to learn. These people are devoted to what they are studying, inspiring me and many others to chase our dreams. My own major, Forest Ecosystem Management, is very niche, but I have such a deep appreciation and passion for what I learn. I am right where I am supposed to be.
Question #3: What do you wish you would have known as a new student at Penn State?
This place is huge! There are so many people, and the campus is always alive. Coming from a small town, I was worried about the scale of this university, thinking I wouldn’t be able to manage the sheer number of students. The College of Agricultural Sciences alleviated that feeling. Our college is a community in itself, allowing someone like me to feel more at home in a big place.
