Zach creates custom, scalable processes in the Salesforce environment for Penn State Extension. Zach is able to extend the Salesforce ecosystem with custom code utilizing Apex, Visualforce, SOQL, Java, Javascript, HTML, and Lightning Web Components. He analyzes and translates business requirements from a technical, functional, workflow, and business logic perspective to make recommendations, and assists in architecting solutions for the Salesforce ecosystem. He oversees the entire development lifecycle, including the design, development, testing, debugging, implementation, modification, documentation, and supporting processes of modules, interfaces, workflow, and applications for the Salesforce platform. He is also responsible for creating and maintaining complex data integrations between multiple systems and Salesforce using ETL middleware tools (for example, Jitterbit) and custom code.

Before joining Penn State, Zach worked as a Salesforce Developer for 3 years for a top consulting firm that is on the Salesforce Advisory Board. At this firm, he was responsible for Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning development in the Salesforce environment, and system integrations using ETL middleware tools including Dell Boomi and Tibco Scribe. He played a key role in Salesforce administrative setup for new and existing clients. He worked with clients to find creative solutions to streamline business processes, and assisted established clients in repairing or improving existing Salesforce orgs. He also worked with clients to facilitate their transition to Lightning. In this role, he gained extensive experience with Apex triggers.

Zach previously worked as a Business Analyst for Bass Pro Shops (BPS) for 7+ years. He specialized in custom SAS programs for reporting purposes, and cloud reporting through Domo. He was a Database modeling analyst for the catalog and online divisions, later becoming the sole Business Analyst of the wholesale division (American Rod and Gun), a key role he played for five years. Zach was also the main Business Analyst for BPS' Tracker and Ranger Boats company.
