Nicole Day

Nicole Day is a multimedia specialist for the Digital Education Team (non-credit). She utilizes her 15+ years of graphic design experience to create engaging educational products and resources for Penn State Extension audiences. Nicole works with educators and instructional designers to develop pedagogically-sound graphics, handouts, and videos that support online courses. Additionally, she enjoys exploring various agricultural sites on photo shoots, where she captures valuable photos that are used in online courses and videos. Nicole's personal mission is to bring her past experiences and love of graphic design to the digital education world by developing pedagogically-sound graphics and videos.

Prior to Penn State, Nicole worked as a graphic designer for ShopVac, where she created labels, ads, cartons, and logos. She also worked as a weather graphics producer for 10 years at AccuWeather, where she worked closely with meteorologists, broadcasters, and producers to design accurate, on-camera weather graphics. Nicole has also designed logos for several local businesses, including Happy Valley Amusements, The Wooded Merganser, Merganser Fencing, and A Broad View Podcast. 

Nicole grew up in State College, PA, and graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design. She enjoys spending time with her husband, son, dog, and two cats. Together, they love learning about science, and you can often find them stargazing.
