Question #1: What inspired you to pursue the major you are in?

I grew up around animals, and I knew that I wouldn't want to pursue a career in anything besides veterinary medicine. Specifically, taking my childhood dog to the veterinarian and being able to see all the instruments and machines truly opened my eyes to the veterinary world. So, I decided to pursue a degree in Animal Science, which has allowed me to gain information on such a wide variety of animal species, while still obtaining the prerequisites I need for veterinary school.

Question #2: What has been the best part of your time in the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences?

The best part of my time in the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences would have to be getting involved with different clubs and organizations. I love how you are able to make friends and connect with different groups, ultimately making this college seem smaller than it actually is. Clubs are also a great opportunity for you to broaden your knowledge in specific interest areas you might have!

Question #3: What do you wish you would have known as a new student at Penn State?

As a new Penn State student, I wish I would have known that it is okay to be different than your friends and peers. Having different grades, different clubs, and even different majors is all important to shape you into the student that you will become. I think it is important to realize that the best part of being a student at Penn State is that there are so many opportunities to cater to your own interests. So my best advice would be to be your own person because everyone’s Penn State journey is different!
