Kelly Hilsey, Assistant Director of Creative Services at the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences, has more than 25 years of experience working for advertising agencies and in-house creative teams. Kelly manages a team of graphic designers, writers, editors, photographers and multimedia specialists in producing marketing communications and educational products for the college and Penn State Extension. The team is proud to help business owners, farmers, and community members be healthier and more productive and promote the importance of our mission to stakeholders, prospective students, and the community.

The creative team's projects include the popular “Let's Preserve" and the new “Let's Cook" series, the Master Gardener Manual, The Agronomy Guide, AgSci Magazine, 4-H materials, Penn State Creamery advertising, and a full suite of student recruitment materials.

Kelly's education is in business management, marketing and graphic design, but her passion is in creating compelling messaging, fostering organizational change, and process improvements.

Prior to Penn State, Kelly served as creative director for various organizations including: Radford University, where she helped her team win the CASE Most Improved Magazine award for the alumni magazine and led the university through a new brand implementation; and Condron Media, where she initiated and managed the addition of website development to their service offering.

Kelly received an Associate Degree in Graphic Design from Delaware County Community College before finishing her bachelor's degree at Misericordia University in Dallas, PA.

Growing up on a small farm in Bradford County, PA, gave Kelly an appreciation for all things ag, but her favorites are fresh raw string beans, the smell of hay, and her mother's canned applesauce.
