Jon Emigh brings 20+ years of integrated marketing and business strategy experience to his role as Associate Director of Marketing Strategy and Operations in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State University. He focuses on positioning the unique products, services, and innovations of the college, creating customer awareness and advocacy, and maximizing marketing and learning technologies to drive successful engagement through all channels

In this role, Jon oversees the marketing strategy (strategy, creative), marketing technology (CRM, web, event management), digital learning (credit and non-credit), and customer service teams, where he focuses on ensuring the strategic development and implementation of integrated marketing and business solutions for the three main mission areas of the college – teaching, research, and extension. On a daily basis, these teams work in an agency-style model to identify college, unit, or client needs, define goals, and develop strategic and innovative marketing, business, and learning solutions. 

Recently, Jon led the Atlas initiative, which was a multi-year strategic plan to redefine the future of Penn State Extension and how the organization engages with non-credit learners, customers, and stakeholders. This project included the implementation of a new product and educational delivery strategy, redefined digital strategy, modern marketing strategy and infrastructure, and CRM solution.  

Jon started his career with Digitas, a marketing and technology agency based in New York, NY, where he worked for clients such as General Motors, Gillette, and FedEx. Building on an agency foundation, Jon’s career includes a combination of agency, client-side, start-up, and small business experience, developing and implementing business and marketing efforts for a wide range of initiatives.

Originally from State College, PA, Jon received his Bachelor of Science in Business (Marketing), from Miami of Ohio.  Jon enjoys time with his young children, music, and an occasional microbrew after a long week.
