Question #1: What inspired you to pursue the major you are in?
Since I was younger, I have always wanted to pursue a career dealing with animals. In high school, I attended a "Becoming a Veterinarian" seminar at a smaller college. I realized that becoming a veterinarian was what I wanted to do. I chose the specific major of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences because it is set up to prepare students for veterinary school. I have always loved the complexity that veterinary medicine offers.
Question #2: What has been the best part of your time in the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences?
The best part of my time at Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences has been the many clubs that are offered. I have met most of my good friends here through the clubs. I think the College of Ag Sciences has a variety of clubs that you can join, and you do not have to have a certain background to be in the clubs. The clubs I have joined have been nothing but supportive and have given me lots of advice on how to be successful in classes and more.
Question #3: What do you wish you would have known as a new student at Penn State?
One thing I wish I had known as a new student at Penn State is that you shouldn't compare yourself to your fellow classmates. I struggled with comparing my grades to everyone else around me, and it did nothing but make me feel worse. Everyone is learning how to be a better student and getting used to being in a new environment. There is no explicit guideline to being a college student and it takes some adjustment to figure out a new routine.
