Question #1: What inspired you to pursue the major you are in?

My childhood dog, Samantha, became my inspiration to pursue a career in veterinary medicine and study animal science, as she taught me not just how to love animals but also what it means to care for animals in need. Throughout my time at Penn State, the College of Agricultural Sciences has supported me to accomplish my goals and strive for success.

Question #2: What has been the best part of your time in the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences?

Through the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences, I have had the opportunity to participate in an externship at the New Bolton Center's Hospital for Large Animals at Penn Vet. This externship provided me with insight into a side of veterinary medicine I had never experienced before. I will take the lessons I learned throughout my externship with me throughout my time here at Penn State and into my future career.

Question #3: What do you wish you would have known as a new student at Penn State?

As a new student at Penn State, I wish I would have known it's okay to slow down. It's okay to make time for yourself and do the things that make YOU happy. Explore the campus, go for walks, and take a moment to destress. It is important to stay present and enjoy the moment you're in!
