Amber May is the Director of Access and Community Engagement Strategies in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State University. In this role, she develops and leads initiatives related to ensuring access, equity, and a welcoming study and work environment in the college. Amber also works with Penn State Extension leadership and personnel to create programs and marketing strategies to reach underserved audiences across Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and oversee initiatives to support the success of first-generation college students
  • Design and lead strategies to support the academic achievement of underrepresented graduate students
  • Facilitate learning and education opportunities to enhance intercultural competencies and skills for our college community
  • Plan and coordinate celebration months and multicultural events
  • Develop and evaluate strategies to enhance Extension programs engagement with underserved communities
