Question #1: What inspired you to pursue the major you are in?

I actually started as a Veterinary & Biomedical Sciences major. I was inspired to switch majors because I realized that I prefer the hands-on opportunities and broader animal network that Animal Science provides. The people of the Animal Science major have been so welcoming and have helped me to discover newfound interests in the agricultural industry!

Question #2: What has been the best part of your time in the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences?

The best part of my time in the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences has been my involvement with the Western Equestrian Team! My teammates have been an absolute rock for me during my academic and personal development here. Being on the team is an incredible opportunity to make a huge campus feel closeknit, while engaging in an accessible form of my hobby and establishing a routine.

Question #3: What do you wish you would have known as a new student at Penn State?

I wish that I had started with a broader approach! You do not have to be set on one major or career path. There is so much more that you can learn about yourself and this university by diversifying your involvement and education. For example, I joined Block and Bridle -- a livestock club -- towards the end of my second year. I met new people and learned of so many career paths in different parts of the agricultural industry that I had no idea about before.
