The Beekeepers Club exists as a space for beekeeping-enthusiasts and for those simply interested in learning about/sharing the beekeeping hobby.
We promote the importance of honeybees through various activities. Members have the opportunity to visit beekeeping locations, hear talks from experts in the field, and help the club maintain colonies of our own in order to further our appreciation and knowledge of honeybees and beekeeping. No matter what your experience with bees is, anyone is welcomed to join our club!
Activities
When the weather is warm enough, usually late Spring to early Fall, we visit our hives and gain hands on experience. Club members are invited to wear bee suits, light smokers, hold frames, taste fresh honey, and see honeybees up close. The club inspects the hives each week -- there are plenty of opportunities to join us!
The club concludes the end of the hive visit season with a honey extraction workshop each Fall. During the off season, the Beekeeping Club has classroom style meetings where we do activities like honey tasting, bee dissection, and beeswax candle making.
We also participate in the Great Insect Fair, Ag Day and other agricultural events.
Please see our planned events via our Google Calendar.
