Edward F. Anewalt IV
'98 B.S. Landscape Contracting

Edward F. Anewalt IV is an 11-year member of the Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association, which presented him with the PLNA 2006 Green Achiever Award. For 20 years, he has been president of Anewalt's Landscape Contracting, where he fused his business know-how with his Penn State education. By introducing design/build and tree-shrub divisions into his company, he successfully ensured the long-term prospects of his landscape business.

Larry L. Hoover
'96 B.S. Agricultural Engineering, '98 M.S. Agricultural and Biological Engineering

As an undergraduate, Hoover spent spring breaks from 1993 to 1996 aiding disaster relief efforts through the Christian Student Fellowship. He worked on relief projects such as post-hurricane Andrew rebuilding in Dade County, Fla., and flood recovery efforts in Houston, Texas. As project design engineer for Case New Holland, Hoover is an innovator in agricultural engineering, having a patent credited to his name for a torsion-bar-activated round-bale kicker.

Dana E. Putnam
'98 Ph.D. Animal Science

Dana Putnam, vice president and general manager of animal nutrition and health for the Balchem Corporation, received bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of New Hampshire before graduating from Penn State in 1998 with a doctorate in animal sciences. While pursuing his doctorate, Putnam worked as a graduate teaching assistant in dairy nutrition and farm business management. He was awarded the John O. Almquist Research Fellowship and the American Feed Industry Association Scholarship in 1995 for his graduate research.
