The Penn State Poultry Judging Team is open to any student within the University with a sincere interest in poultry, poultry products, and poultry selection and evaluation.
Students must enroll in AN SC 421 to try out for the Poultry Judging Team. The team will be made up of the four individuals that meet the eligibility standards and achieve the highest scores on the class mid-term.
All students must be academically eligible to be a member and compete on the PSU Poultry Judging Team. This requires a cumulative grade point average of 2.25 during the semester(s) the student intends to compete.
The Poultry Judging Team competes at two national contests annually:
- United States Poultry and Egg Association National Poultry Judging Contest held at Louisiana State University in early April.
- National Collegiate Poultry Judging Contest held at University of Arkansas in early November.
