The Penn State Student Chapter of the Society of American Foresters seeks to advance the science, technology, education, and practice of professional natural resource management and to use the knowledge and skills gained to benefit society.
Penn State SAF hosts various forestry-related professionals who share their knowledge and experiences with the organization. In addition to regular meetings, Penn State SAF sponsors a number of activities throughout the year, including a Christmas tree sale, service projects such as tree plantings and trail maintenance, camping trips, and other outdoor activities. Student members also have the opportunity to attend the SAF National Convention and participate in the annual Forestry Quiz Bowl.
