Susan Lechtanski is a Marketing Strategy Specialist with Penn State Extension, where she utilizes her 28 years of marketing experience developing product and marketing strategies for the Food, Family and Health, and Food Safety and Quality teams. Susan works one-on-one with clients to design and implement accurate and actionable marketing strategies to drive extension program growth.
Before Extension, Susan worked in Auxiliary and Business Services for 16 years as a Marketing Strategy Specialist. Most recently, she spent the last four years supporting Housing and Food Services for University Park and the eleven residential Commonwealth Campuses. Additionally, Susan spent twelve years at the Bryce Jordan Center, assisting with the development and execution of numerous events, including concerts, family entertainment, trade shows, career fairs, and orientation programs. She developed comprehensive local, state, and national marketing campaigns.
In her previous role with Student Affairs, Susan spent twelve years creating vital marketing resources for the HUB-Robeson Center and Student Engagement Programs. She consulted with multiple clients throughout these departments to develop marketing strategies, which included managing the planning and oversight of strategic marketing campaigns incorporating print and electronic communications, public relations, and event management, as well as other channels to reach desired learning outcomes and objectives. In her spare time, Susan co-advises Roar for More, Susquehanna Service Dogs at Penn State, a community and student group in the Centre Region. Part of Keystone Human Services, Susquehanna Service Dogs breeds, raises, trains, and places assistance dogs to assist children and adults with disabilities to lead more independent lives. You’ll often see her around campus with a service puppy in training.
Susan received her Bachelor of Science in Earth and Mineral Sciences, focusing on Geographic Information Systems and Demographic and Spatial Analysis, from The Pennsylvania State University in 1997.
