Question #1: What inspired you to pursue the major you are in?
I've wanted to be a veterinarian since the 2nd grade. When I realized Penn State had the Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences major, it was a no-brainer. I’m driven by a desire to help both animals and people, along with a love for science and problem-solving.
Question #2: What has been the best part of your time in the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences?
Other than being an Ag Advocate, I've been on the executive board of Small and Exotic Animals Club (SEAC) for the past two years as the events planner and vice president. I’ve loved hearing from animal-related organizations and professors, visiting Penn State facilities like the Deer Pens, and going on spring zoo trips to Pittsburgh, Washington D.C., and Baltimore.
Question #3: What do you wish you would have known as a new student at Penn State?
I wish I would've known more about scheduling. There were some classes that are prerequisites for a lot of other Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences courses that I wish I had taken my first year, and there were also some classes that I took earlier than I should have. Advisors are great to keep you on track, but it’s helpful to have an idea of the classes you want to take, when you want to take them, and what prerequisites you need.
