MaryBeth Gavin is a student majoring in Environmental Resource Management pursuing the Soils option, as well as a minor in Watersheds and Water Resources and a certificate in Agricultural Stewardship and Conservation. She is from Jacksonville, North Carolina, and chose Penn State for its location and strong academic curriculum in the natural sciences.

Her hobbies include collecting four-leaf clovers and playing Pokémon. MaryBeth works as a research assistant in the Kaye biogeochemistry laboratory, where she assists with research projects, including the ten-year cover crop project. Additionally, she is creating an agricultural outreach tool for the ASA-CSSA-SSSA International Annual Meeting this semester. MaryBeth will study abroad this March with the ERM program in Costa Rica.

Her favorite Berkey Creamery flavor is Death by Chocolate.
