Chuck Gill is a senior public relations specialist for the College of Agricultural Sciences, where he deploys decades of news, media relations and public relations experience to position the college's research, extension and teaching programs with stakeholders and the public.
Over his time at Penn State, he has written and edited thousands of news releases, articles, fact sheets, marketing pieces and other materials; assisted hundreds of journalists by providing information and facilitating interviews with faculty and extension experts; edited the college's magazine; led the Pennsylvania Farm Show radio committee in providing news feeds/stories to scores of radio stations and networks throughout the state and beyond; written and placed op-eds on behalf of the dean; served as publicity chair on the Ag Progress Days planning committee; and provided text and information for the dean's office and Penn State president's office for use in public remarks, talking points and other communications.
Prior to joining the college, Chuck worked in western Maryland as a radio news director and as public relations manager for a small publishing company serving the collectibles market. He also worked briefly in cable television marketing and radio advertising sales.
A State College-area native, Chuck began his college career at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania, where he worked for the campus radio station and was an all-conference soccer player and co-captain. He earned his bachelor's degree at Penn State in communications studies.
