Question #1: What inspired you to pursue the major you are in?
I was inspired to pursue a degree in Agricultural and Extension Education because of the impact of my agricultural educators throughout high school. My teachers made a big impact in my life and opened my eyes to the importance of the agricultural industry, and I hope to make a similar positive impact in the lives of my future students.
Question #2: What has been the best part of your time in the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences?
Since coming to PSU and the College of Agricultural Sciences, my interest related to the global impacts of agriculture has grown significantly. I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to Nepal and Kenya during my time here and have learned so much through my work with the Global Teach Ag Network and my experience in the International Agriculture minor.
Question #3: What do you wish you would have known as a new student at Penn State?
While it’s hard to think about changing any aspect of my incredible time at PSU, I sometimes wish I had been more specific in my campus/extracurricular involvement rather than having the mindset of “doing it all”. Don’t be afraid to say “no” to new opportunities if it means you will have more time to invest in the things that you really care about and that will help you grow both personally and professionally! It is hard to do, but you won’t regret taking care of yourself and enjoying the incredible State College area – there are so many fun things to do!
