Question #1: What inspired you to pursue the major you are in?
Although I began my time at Penn State in a different major than the one I am currently pursuing, my experience with agricultural education in high school inspired my desire to work in the agricultural industry. I believe that working to feed a growing population and supporting those who make it possible is an honorable endeavor that requires attention and effort. My previous experiences have motivated me to be a part of that mission in some capacity.
Question #2: What has been the best part of your time in the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences?
The highlight of my time in the College of Agricultural Sciences has undoubtedly been my study abroad courses in Belize and Kenya. During two different years at Penn State, my enrollment in the College of Agricultural Sciences opened the door to both travel opportunities, which fostered global competence and personal growth. Although each experience was unique, both profoundly shifted my perspective on agriculture and global development, ultimately steering my educational journey in a new direction. I am especially grateful for the friendships I built during these trips and firmly believe that everyone should incorporate a study abroad experience into their time in the College of Agricultural Sciences!
Question #3: What do you wish you would have known as a new student at Penn State?
As a new student at Penn State, I wish I would have known that it is perfectly fine to change your mind about your major, minor, or other pursuits in your educational career. Change is important for fundamental growth and allows us to find what really works for us
