Tony Chiocco is an instructional designer for the non-credit Digital Education Team at Penn State, where he utilizes his many years of education experience to create online courses and educational videos for people to access throughout the world. Tony collaborates with partners across Pennsylvania to facilitate an educational experience and bridge the gap between the experts and the learner. It's the Digital Education Team's vision that students can access education and knowledge from the experts, and Tony's philosophy is to parallel this mission by working to help provide quality education to anyone who wants to receive it.
Tony has presented at several conferences. His work has been recognized by Pennsylvania Department of Education and was nominated for a community partnership award. He continues to use his expertise to be a pivotal part of the learning process with a particular passion for advocating the adult learner.
Prior to Penn State, Tony taught secondary English and History, then transitioned to adult education where he added many more subjects to his lesson plans. He then progressed to leading professional development opportunities in technology within education and assessment. Originally from Erie, PA, Tony received his Bachelor of Arts in English from Penn State in 2006 and his teaching certification in 2008.
