Both programs have a high rate of success helping students gain admission to one of the 31 schools accredited by American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) in the United States.
Penn State has an excellent reputation among veterinary colleges, and our students routinely report that they are better prepared than many of their classmates, both academically and in the practical application of their knowledge to veterinary medicine.
What are the differences between Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences and Animal Science?
- Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences: ideal for students with an interest and aptitude in the biomedical sciences. The minimum requirements of nearly all U.S. vet schools are included in the eight-semester plan.
- Animal Science: strong choice for students who are applied learners. Animal Science students must select an additional physics course to meet the minimum requirements.
