Kassandra Hower

Originally from a family dairy farm, Kasey has been involved in the dairy industry her whole life. Her family milked 80 head of Holstein cattle in a tie stall facility and while growing up Kasey was involved in 4-H, showing heifers and dairy beef at the county, district, and state levels. She continued her education by attending the University of Delaware for her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Animal Science. During her master’s program, Kasey worked under Dr. Limin Kung studying various corn hybrids and additives for silage. Kasey is no stranger to extension as after graduate school, she worked out of the Schuylkill County Extension Office as a 4-H Program Assistant. For the past 3 years, she has traveled throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New York selling liquid feeds to dairy and beef operations. She is excited to join the extension team once again and work more closely with our local dairy producers to help them assess their feeding programs and forages.
