College Website Lockdown

The website will be locked down at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23. We are making great progress with the transition of the website to a new look and feel, and will be migrating all remaining content to a new system after the lock-down occurs. Please see the transition details below for more information.

Plone Training

Training dates for those who manage content on the website are now available! We will show you the new interface of Plone and have time to answer your questions. Mark your calendar to participate in one of the following sessions:

  • Thursday, August 8, 10:00 - 11:30am
  • Monday, August 12, 1:00 - 2:30pm
  • Wednesday, August 28, 1:00 - 2:30pm

Each session will take place in Ag Admin 424 or via zoom. The sessions will be recorded and shared for reference.

Additional sessions will be offered this fall for those who manage content on department websites.

Website Transition Details

What can you expect during the transition?

  • The site is being built in a newer version of the Plone CMS, not yet visible to the public.
  • Once the site is ready, you will be provided opportunity to review your pages in the new system.
  • We will work collaboratively with you on making any necessary updates prior to launch.
  • We anticipate a 3 to 4 week lock-down and transition period. You will be alerted to the exact launch date of the site as we get closer in August.
  • During and after launch, our team will conduct testing to ensure everything is functioning properly. We will encourage you to also test your pages and alert us to any issues.

How can you update content in the new Plone system?

  • The web team will be hosting in-person/zoom training sessions for those that manage content on the website on August 8, 12, and 28 - see details above.
  • We encourage you to participate in a live training so your questions can be answered on-the-spot; however, sessions will be recorded and made available on-demand.
  • Access to editing in the new system will be available in early August. Any changes made in Plone will reflect on the website when it launches to the public in late August.
  • A new set of how-to articles will also be available on the Ag Communications and Marketing site to use as a resource at any time.

Additional Notes

Please note that this transition impacts only the website. Department websites (i.e. and the Extension website ( are not affected at this time.
