The Pennsylvania Women’s Agricultural Network (PA-WAgN) is launching a women farmer mentoring program to connect established farmers with new and beginning farmers, aspiring farmers, and seasoned farmers. The mentor program will encourage women farmers to support each other through shared learning and exchange of experiences in workshops and online forums focused on five topic areas: fruit and vegetable cultivation, dairy and cheese production, urban agriculture and nutrition, on-farm education and value-added products, and livestock production.

SAVE THE DATE: December 7, 2012 WOMAN TO WOMAN: PAY IT FORWARD PA-WAgN is hosting a one-day networking symposium December 7, 2012, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Penn Stater Conference Center in State College, PA. PA-WAgN is developing a mentoring program through USDA's New & Beginning Farmer Rancher Program and will feature ways in which we all can benefit from a mentor/mentee relationship. We are currently accepting presenter proposals. Please submit a 150 word bio, workshop title, and 150 word workshop description via email to Ann Stone at no later than Friday, September 28 if you are interested in presenting. Suggested topics: Livestock/Animal Care, Vegetable/Fruit Production, Business Planning/Marketing, Soil Management, Personal Health Management. A $50 registration fee will include a full day of workshops, networking opportunities, lunch, and refreshments. Sponsors/Exhibitors: $100 level will include a 10' display table, feature in publicity materials and programs, and one conference registration. $150 level will include a 10' display table, feature in publicity materials and programs, and two conference registrations. $200 level will include a 10' display table, feature in publicity materials and programs, and three conference registrations.
