USDA's Women in Agriculture Starts Mentoring Groups

Posted: August 11, 2015

The USDA's Women in Agriculture Program started in 2015 as a way for women farmers to connect and share their stories with other women farmers. The program puts out a newsletter and has started online mentoring groups.

The Women in Agriculture Program at USDA helps connect not only women farmers with other women farmers but also with Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Krista Harden and other officials. The program runs Round Tables where women farmers can interact with Harden and local Senators and Congresswomen.

This is our chance to tell our stories. This program is also an opportunity for farmers of different farming styles to connect through gender lines and share what all women farmers have in common. Looking at what we have in common instead of what separates us will bring strength to all women farmers.
