Fall 2017 Updates!

Penn State's University Park:

Our first cohort of undergraduate researchers will be meeting soon to discuss and determine their individual group projects. Groups will be working with Penn State PhD student Erica Odera to assist in her dissertation work, which aims to better understand the role of youth participatory evaluation.

Philadelphia- Saturday Academy:

Our Saturday Academy group selected the topic of race and police relations. This group (aged 13-17 years) developed surveys and interview questions for both their community members as well as members from the Philadelphia police force. While the conversation started tense, both youth and police officers were laughing and planning for future interactions. Currently, the youth group are working to develop a video to showcase their work and explain the findings from their perspective.

Upcoming projects:

The Penn State UNESCO team is working hard to ensure that all current projects continue with success, and establish the framework to be a constant in their respective communities.

Future potential sites can be found in Illinois, Texas, and Virginia. News on these sites will be shared as they develop.
