This scholarship is available to women students who have junior or senior standing in the College of Agricultural Sciences. The award is based on character, scholarship, and documented financial need. Endowed by friends of Mrs. Ralph L. Watts. ** DOCUMENTED FINANCIAL NEED REQUIRED

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students who are currently enrolled or are planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences who have achieved superior academic records or manifest promise of outstanding academic success.

This scholarship shall be awarded to students regularly enrolled in a two-year course in the College of Agricultural Sciences. Eligible students are those beginning their fourth semester who have documented financial need. ** Documented Financial need required.

First preference shall be given to students from the eligible pool who are attending Penn State University Park. Consideration for this award shall be given to all undergraduate students majoring in Turfgrass Sciences in the College of Agricultural Sciences who have achieved outstanding academic achievement.

Consideration for this award shall be given to all undergraduate students majoring in Horticulture in the College of Agricultural Sciences who have a demonstrated excellence though their participation in the annual Penn State Horticulture show and who are majoring in Plant Science with the Horticulture option, or successor degree program, or have demonstrated an interest in horticulture.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University who demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to students from the eligible pool who are enrolled in the Schreyer Honors College. Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students majoring in a degree offered by the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering in the College of Agricultural Sciences. Currently, the undergraduate degrees offered by the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering are Agricultural Systems Management and Biological Engineering; however, these may be updated in the future in accordance with the degrees offered by the Department. First preference shall be given to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership skills and commitment to volunteer service.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students majoring in Food Science in the College of Agricultural Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time graduate and undergraduate students pursuing a degree in Plant Science, or successor degree program(s) in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University. First preference shall be given to students from the eligible pool whose home address of record is in York County, Pennsylvania and who are enrolled in the Horticulture option or who have a demonstrated interest in Horticulture. If no students meet the first preference in a given year, available funds will be awarded to any student based on the general eligibility criteria, regardless of preference.

This scholarship is available to all undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a degree program offered by the Department of Plant Science or the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management (or any successor departments) in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the Environmental Resource Management major with the Soil Science option and who have demonstrated interest in Soil Science, Agronomy or Turfgrass Science.

Consideration for this scholarship in the College of Agricultural Sciences is with the intent to recognize and provide financial assistance to all full-time undergraduate students who have a demonstrated financial need, who have achieved positive academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success, and who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the Agroecology option and/or who have a demonstrated interest in Agroecology. **DEMONSTRATED FINANCIAL NEED REQUIRED. Donor requests that expenditures are restricted to scholarship support to undergraduate students who are majoring in Environmental Resource Management and pursuing the Soil Science option and/or to support expenses related to the efforts of the Soil Judging team. In any given year, support for the Soil Judging team shall not exceed one third of the available income.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Department of Animal Science, in the College of Agricultural Sciences who have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0, and who have demonstrated financial need. Preference shall be given to students who have interest in dairy research.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students who are either 1) of at least junior academic standing and majoring in Wildlife and Fisheries Science in the College of Agricultural Sciences at any campus of The Pennsylvania State University or 2) in their last year of study of the Wildlife Technology major, a major offered through the College of Agricultural Sciences, at any campus of The Pennsylvania State University. Currently, the Wildlife Technology major is only offered at Penn State DuBois. First preference shall be given to Pennsylvania residents who have a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career as a conservation officer.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to provide financial assistance to outstanding graduate students enrolled in the Horticulture degree program, of successor degree program, and/or undergraduate students enrolled in either the Plant Sciences degree program and pursuing the Horticulture option, or successor degree program, or the Forest Ecosystem Management degree program, or successor degree program. Eligible recipients should have superior academic records.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students majoring in Forest Science in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State University Park who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success.

The intent of this scholarship is to provide recognition and financial assistance to undergraduate students of at least sophomore standing who have achieved a minimum grade point average of 2.5 (on a scale of 4.0); who have a demonstrated financial need to meet their necessary college expenses; and who are majoring in or planning to major in a degree offered by the following academic departments, or successor departments: Department of Animal Science, Department of Plant Science, or the Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology and Education.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success, and who have a demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to full time undergraduate students who meet the above mentioned criteria and show have graduated from any high school in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. **DOCUMENTED FINANCIAL NEED REQUIRED

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to students from the eligible pool whose home address of residence is in the Northwest Region of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. If no students meet the first preference in a given year, funds will be awarded to any student in the College of Agricultural Sciences eligibility pool, regardless of preference. For the purposes of this scholarship, the Northwest Region of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania shall be defined by the following Pennsylvania counties: Crawford, Erie, Mercer and Warren.

Consideration of this scholarship shall be made available to an undergraduate student in the College of Agriculture with preference given to a student in the field of botany with award based on scholarship, financial need, and character.

From the identified pool of eligible recipients, and to the extent possible, first preference shall be given to students whose home address of record is in Washington County, Pennsylvania. Consideration for this award is with the intent to provide financial support to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated financial need. From the identified pool of eligible recipients, and to the extent possible, first preference shall be given to students whose home address of residence is in the territory of the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission in Pennsylvania. If no students meet the first preference in a given year, available funds will be awarded to any student based on the general eligibility criteria, regardless of preference. For reference, the territory of the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission currently includes the following Pennsylvania counties: Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, and Wyoming. *DEMONSTRATED FINANCIAL NEED REQUIRED.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. Preference shall be given to students whose home of record is in Huntingdon County, PA

The intent of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to all full-time undergraduate students pursuing or planning to pursue a degree offered by the Department of Animal Science, or successor department, who have achieved satisfactory academic records. First preference shall be given, to the extent possible, to eligible recipients who demonstrate an interest in dairy cattle breeding and genetics and/or who have been active in the 4-H Dairy Program. If no students meet the first preference in a given year, funds will be awarded to any student based on the general eligibility criteria, regardless of preference.

Consideration for the scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students who are planning to pursue or who are pursuing a degree offered by the Department of Animal Science in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State University Park who have achieved satisfactory academic records. First preference shall be given to students who demonstrate an interest in dairy cattle breeding and genetics and/or who have been active in the 4-H Dairy Program. If no students meet the first preference in a given year, funds will be awarded to any student pursuing a degree offered by the Department of Animal Sciences based on the general eligibility criteria.

Consideration for this award shall be given to all undergraduate students minoring in International Agriculture in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology and Education, in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University, who are fulfilling educational and professional objectives through participation in an agricultural education and/or agriculturally related study abroad program. Recipients of this award shall be approved by the College of Agricultural Sciences Scholarship and Awards Committee, upon recommendation of the Head for the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education. By December 1st of each year, eligible students must submit written proposals that define the educational and professional objectives they will meet by participating in an agricultural education and/or agriculturally related study abroad program.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students currently enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University. Preference shall be given to students studying in the School of Forest Resources. Recommendation from the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management Scholarship Committee to the College Committee.

Consideration for the award shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled in the Wildlife and Fisheries Science Program in the College of Agricultural Sciences who are in good academic standing and who are in good academic standing and who demonstrate commitment to public service on behalf of the conservation of natural resources, particularly regarding the necessity for protecting and maintaining health habits for wildlife and plants.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be with the intent to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Plant Science major with the option of Agroecology, Plant Science, or Horticulture, or successor degree program(s), who have a demonstrated financial need to meet their necessary college expenses. *DEMONSTRATED FINANCIAL NEED REQUIRED.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology and Education in the College of Agricultural Sciences.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success, and who are interested in exploring various leadership styles within social, cultural, political, and/or organizational contexts. First preference shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students who meet the above mentioned criteria, who are majoring or planning to major in Agricultural and Extension Education with the Leadership Development and Communication option and who have participated in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and/or 4-H. Second preference shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students who are minoring in or planning to minor in Leadership Development.

Consideration for this award shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled at The Pennsylvania State University who are the most industrious and diligent members of the club as demonstrated by their active involvement in club meetings and activities.

Consideration for this award shall be given to graduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in a Master of Science degree program offered by the Department of Animal Science, or successor department, in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, whose research focus in on dairy physiology and/or dairy nutrition and who have a demonstrated outstanding academic achievement.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the International Agriculture undergraduate minor or the International Agriculture and Development graduate degree program, or successor degree program(s). While demonstrated financial need is not a requirement for eligibility for this scholarship, consideration may be given to students who demonstrate financial need.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, at Penn State University Park. Preference shall be given to eligible recipients in the following order: 1. First to students who are majoring in or planning to major in Plant Sciences and enrolled or planning to enroll in either Agroecology major option or the Crop Production major option, or successor degree program(s). 2. Second to students who are majoring in or planning to major in Agribusiness Management, or successor degree program.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, at the University who are also majoring in Agricultural Systems Management or who are majoring in BioRenewable Systems and enrolled in the Agricultural Systems Management option (or successor degree programs), and who have achieved superior academic records or who demonstrate promise of outstanding academic success.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, at the University who are past members of 4-H.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated financial need. From the identified pool of eligible recipients, and to the extent possible, preference shall be given to eligible recipients who are majoring in or planning to major in Food Science, or successor degree program. If no students meet the stated preference in a given year or if there are sufficient funds to award additional scholarships beyond the eligible recipients who meet the stated preference, available funds will be awarded to any student in the College of Agricultural Sciences eligibility pool, regardless of preference. ** DOCUMENTED FINANCIAL NEED REQUIRED

Consideration for this award shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled in a major in the School of Ecosystem Science and Management in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State University Park who have achieved outstanding academic achievement.

Consideration for this award shall be given to all candidates for a graduate degree in a program offered in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, who have demonstrated excellence in scholarly achievement to research or creative accomplishment in the discipline of sensory science.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences who are majoring in Animal Science, or successor degree program, or any degree program in the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences, or successor department, who are following a pre-veterinary program, and whose home address of residence is in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. First preference shall be given to students who have been accepted into the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Second preference shall be given to students who have been accepted into an accredited school of veterinary medicine.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students, in their junior and/or senior year, enrolled in a major offered in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic units, at Penn State University Park who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. If no students meet the General Eligibility Criteria in a given year or if there are sufficient funds to award additional scholarships beyond the eligible recipients, then the scholarship monies can be awarded to students, regardless of the General Eligibility Criteria, in the following order: 1. To students who are minoring or planning to minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, or successor degree program. 2. To students who are, or who have, participated in the College of Agricultural Science's Springboard Competition, or successor program.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, at the University. First preference shall be given to students who are graduates of, or who are planning to graduate from, Marion Center High School, or successor high school, in Marion Center, Pennsylvania. Second preference shall be given to students who are graduates of, or who are planning to graduate from, any public high school located in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. Third preference shall be given to students who have a demonstrated financial need.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, at Penn State University Park who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success.

Consideration of this award shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, who are majoring in Turfgrass Science or enrolled in a Turfgrass Management program, or successor degree programs, and who have demonstrated academic excellence.

Consideration for this award shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, who are majoring in or planning to major in a degree program offered by the Department of Food Science, or successor department, and who have fulfilled educational and professional objectives through participation in an internship, for-credit or not-for-credit, in a dairy processing facility with significant emphasis on frozen dessert manufacture or fluid milk processing.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success and who are majoring in any degree program offered in the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences, or successor department.

Consideration for this award shall be given to honor and recognize outstanding academic achievement by at least a fifth semester standing undergraduate student who is majoring in BioRenewable Systems, or successor degree program, and who is pursuing the Agricultural Systems Management Option, or successor option, in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, at the University. Awards shall be dependent upon the annual contribution and in no case shall the value of the funds expended exceed the funds available for this purpose. Awards may be provided to eligible recipients regardless of enrollment status, so long as the recipients are in good academic standing and intend to continue their education in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, at the University. Each award shall be for one academic year. Further extraordinary accomplishments by a recipient may enable that recipient to be again considered for this award. It is the Donors' preference that an award of $500 each be made to two students per year.
