On November 1, the Penn State Livestock Judging Team competed at the Southeast Regional Contest in Williamston, North Carolina. During the trip, students visited May Valley Club Lambs and M.C. Livestock in Virginia, and the team extends sincere thanks to both operations for their hospitality. While traveling through the region, students also had the opportunity to observe cotton and peanut harvest in full swing—two cornerstone commodities of Southern agriculture. At the contest, the Nittany Lions earned High Team Overall, placing 2nd in Reasons, 2nd in Beef, 1st in Swine, 3rd in Sheep, and 2nd in Goats. Individually, Sydney Phipps placed 8th Overall, David Schultheis was 7th Overall, and Maddelyn Pimm earned 6th Overall honors. Megan Zipprich topped the field, being named High Individual Overall. The team extends its appreciation to North Carolina State University for hosting an excellent event.
