The Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS), through its Keystone Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society, is offering three $750 scholarships to undergraduate students studying agriculture, environmental studies, soils, or natural resources in Pennsylvania.
These scholarships support students dedicated to advancing the conservation of soil, water, and other natural resources.
Eligibility
Students who have previously received this scholarship are not eligible to apply again.
Students must:
- Be enrolled at a college or university in Pennsylvania
- Be studying agriculture, environmental studies, soils, or natural resources
- Be entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year during the 2026–2027 academic year
Application Deadline
Applications must be postmarked or emailed by April 15, 2026.
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on:
- Academic merit and program of study
- Quality of the application and essay
- Financial need
- Educational and career goals aligned with the SWCS mission
Award decisions will be made in May 2026, and successful applicants will be notified by phone shortly after the selection committee completes its review.
About the Scholarship
The mission of SWCS is to foster the science and art of natural resource conservation. The organization promotes sustainable land management practices that protect soil, water, and related resources on working lands used to produce food and fiber.
SWCS also works to improve quality of life in both rural and urban communities by developing and promoting land-use practices that sustain productivity while enhancing the environment.
One of this year’s scholarships is made possible through a generous donation from the Association of Retired Conservation Service Employees (ARCSE), Pennsylvania Chapter.
