Students have the opportunity to participate in a two-credit course connected with the educational event. This course is open to all majors.
The Shaver's Creek Maple Harvest Festival is scheduled for March 21 and 22.
Students will learn:
- How to identify Sugar Maple trees
- Historical and modern methods for collecting and boiling sap into maple syrup
- Outdoor, experiential, and team teaching techniques
- Interpretive methods for teaching the art of maple sugaring to the general public during a community festival
