Coming up this summer, Penn State is hosting up to 40 students for a "research experience for undergrads" (REU) to work on projects related to Project Drawdown. Project Drawdown is focused on implementing a wide range of solutions to reversing global warming (https://www.drawdown.org/). Students from all backgrounds and majors from anywhere in the U.S. are encouraged to look at this opportunity, which comes with housing and a summer stipend.
