With hundreds of fun events around the Penn State community, Global Entrepreneurship Week, November 7 to 15, is a great time to explore entrepreneurship. The college's Entrepreneurship & Innovation Program is co-hosting events over two days. Check it out!

Thursday, November 8th at Happy Valley Launch Box, downtown State College

  • 10:35 a.m. Creativity Class Explore your entrepreneurial creativity with peers
  • 12:05 p.m. Culture's Impact on Our Behavior Patterns & Buying Decisions: Jamie O'Boyle, Sr. Analyst, and Margaret J. King, Ph.D., Director, The Center for Cultural Studies & Analysis
  • 1:35 p.m. Entrepreneur Panel with Hung Ly, Entrepreneur, Owner/Operator of 2 Chick-fil-A units, Jamie O'Boyle and Dr. Margaret J. King

Tuesday, November 13th at Happy Valley Launch Box, downtown State College

  • 4:00-5:30 p.m. - Open Pitch Challenge Finals! Join us for the finals of the Open Pitch Challenge, an event open to any and all Penn State students with ideas that have not yet been validated by working prototypes.
  • 6:00 p.m. - Penn State Innovation Challenges Join us as we present a wide selection of innovation challenges, including Ag Springboard, from across the University, representing over $100,000 in awards and prizes.

Ag Springboard is a student business pitch contest with a $7,500 grand prize to make your idea happen. (Like TV's Shark Tank - but for ag sciences students!) You can join a team or lead a team. Learn to pitch, a valuable skill for any career.

Ag Springboard dates:

  • February 15th - Team Formation Deadline
  • March 15th - Team Video Submission Deadline
  • March 22th - Finalist Notification
  • April 3rd - Finalist Competition Day and Awards Banquet
