Anchored by our organic garden center and market, The Barn is an all-inclusive resource for those interested in hydroponics, homebrewing, beekeeping, and naturally derived home and self-care products.

The Barn also houses a tasting room featuring wine, spirits and mead, and a grab-and-go café. We host a variety of weekly events, including tasting and charity dinners, and classes on everything from hydroponics to cooking and homesteading.

We are searching for a summer intern to help design and maintain hydroponic displays, outdoor gardens, and assist in planning and presenting classes and events to the public.

Students will learn how to work with various types of hydroponics systems and plants including, but not limited to, starting seeds indoors, nutrient management, pest control and proper lighting. The successful candidate will gain experience in organic gardening through composting, succession planting, fertilizer management, mixing soil blends and organic pest control.

Applicants should have some horticultural background or currently taking classes in plant science, agriculture or horticulture. Applicants should be organized, have a positive attitude, be a problem solver and self-sufficient when necessary.

This is an unpaid internship requiring 2-3 days a week and about 3-5 hours each day.
