Adams County farm that grows a wide variety of flowers, vegetables and fruits for the surrounding community in need of paid worker.

The successful candidate will participate in all farm activities from greenhouse work, fieldwork, harvest, delivery, and farmer's markets. This includes driving tractors, seeding, transplanting, weeding, pruning and other crop care, irrigation, harvest, washing and packing produce, driving deliveries, working markets. This opportunity is for the person looking to learn the ins and outs of small-scale vegetable, fruit, flower farming and greenhouse management. Most Sundays off.

Responsibilities:

Some tasks include transplanting, potting, repotting, staking, tying, grooming, watering and transporting potted plants to and from growing areas, and working at markets. Other responsibilities may include, assisting in the upkeep and cleanliness of the greenhouse and other work areas, and performing primary plant care. Retail operations responsibilities include cashier and customer service.

Housing/Transportation is not provided.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Desire to learn farming/greenhouse management
  • Team player, positive attitude, outgoing personality
  • Modest dress code
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Able to work in all weather conditions (including extreme heat and rain)
  • Good physical health: comfortable standing for 8 hours, able to lift 50 pounds
  • Work at a fast farm pace
  • Flexible, able, and willing to perform a variety of tasks in changing situations
  • Solid problem solving skills
  • Non-smoker
  • Valid driver's license is required.
