Pittsburgh Summer Urban Experience 2017

The Penn State Center Pittsburgh is looking for a student to work in Green Infrastructure.

A student studying landscape contracting, horticulture, plant science, soils science or a related field is needed to work within the realm of green infrastructure through installation, inspection, and maintenance of bioretention facilities throughout the Pittsburgh area. This student will need to work collaboratively with local community residents as well as community professionals and city workforce to complete project work. Some activities may include volunteer training and supervision during installation and maintenance work. In addition, this individual may assist in the creation of various training manuals to help guide target populations in the management of green infrastructure.

Requirements: Junior or Senior. This summer work opportunity will be for the period mid-May through mid-August, approximately 30 hours per week. This work can be used either as an internship or an independent work study. Pay is commensurate with years of study.
