Academic Policy Updates

Beginning with the Fall 2016 semester, there are several important academic changes that you need to be aware of. These changes include a new timeline for the drop/add period and course repeat limitations.

Beginning with the Fall 2016 semester, the regular drop period for a full semester course is limited to the first six calendar days of the fall/spring semesters. The regular add period is one calendar day after the regular drop deadline. For the Fall 2016 semester, students who would like to regular drop a course must do so by 11:59 pm on August 27th. Any courses dropped before this deadline would not appear on a transcript. Students who would like to regular add a course must do so by 11:59 pm on August 28th. These drop and add actions would need to be processed through LionPATH. For courses that are not full semester courses, please visit your LionPATH Student Center to identify the regular drop/add and late drop dates specific to those courses. Please keep in mind that LionPATH will not be accessible on August 27th from 10 am until 2 pm.

The Fall 2016 late drop period begins August 28th and extends through November 11th for full semester courses. There is no limit on the number of courses/credits that a student is able to drop; however, any course that has been late dropped will be considered an attempted course. Students are permitted to attempt the same course a maximum of three times. Attempts include: a late drop of the course, an earned grade of F, an earned grade of D in a C or better required course.
