2016 Dutch Gold Honey Undergraduate Scholarship

Applications now being accepted for the 2016 Dutch Gold Honey Undergraduate Scholarship for research in honey bee biology and health

The Penn State Center for Pollinator Research is seeking undergraduate student applicants for the Dutch Gold Honey Scholarship for honey bee research. This scholarship is awarded to undergraduates enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences who have completed or are registered for 300 and 400 level courses in Entomology. The successful candidates will receive a scholarship of $3000 and the opportunity to participate in research on honey bees with a faculty member from the Center in the Fall 2016 semester, or longer if desired. Students are expected to commit 10 hours/week to their research project. Two awards are available.

Interested students should submit their applications to LaTrisha Hough () by April 1, 2016. Applicants will be notified of the decision of the selection committee by May 1, 2016. Applications should include a one page cover letter describing the applicant’s interests in honey bee research and a brief letter of support from the faculty member.
